What is IRIDOLOGY??
Iridology is the study of the iris as associated with disease. An Iridology assessment is a comprehensive health analysis using the scientific method through the intricate fiber structures in the iris via the optic nerve, to determine certain states of emotional and physical health. Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, was the first to described the fascinating discipline of iridology, and it was rediscovered in 1860 by Ignacz von Peczely, a Hungarian Doctor who devoted his life to its study. Peczely became a great physician of his time. He published several books on Iridology and gained much notoriety, but was limited in his observations of the iris, because of the optical equipment available to him at that time.
Now, in our sophisticated and modern world, we have cameras and microscopes with powerful magnifying capabilities that substantiates the science and practice of iridology. This helps enormously when identifying individual nerve fibers and tiny iris markings.
As written by the Guild of Naturopathic Iridologists International; "A trained Iridologist sees the exposed nerve endings as a 'map', revealing information about:
· the body's genetic strengths and weaknesses
· levels of inflammation and toxemia
· the efficiency of the eliminative systems and organs
In the hands of those who are well versed in the pathology of the pathways of disease, as well as anatomy and physiology, this provides a veritable microchip of information. Iridology can help you understand what 'optimum health' means for an individual person. The iris displays a unique insight into our health potential and disease dispositions. Iris patterns and pigmentation reveal the history of our inherited health. Iridology, or iris diagnosis as it is often called, is a method used in alternative medicine to analyze the health status of an individual by studying specific colors,
patterns, locations, markings, and pigmentation in the iris of the eye, similar to the way an optometrist analyzes the eye-although these professionals are studying something very different. In a singular eye it is called iris; and both eyes is termed iride (I-rid).
How It Works:
The 'iris' of the eye, is the most complex tissue structure in the human anatomy, which is the exposed nerve endings that makes up the colored part of the eye. From the time we are conceived the iris and all its fibers are formed along with the brain before any other organ is developed, making the eyes an extension of the brain endowed with thousands of nerve endings, microscopic blood vessels, muscle, and other tissues.
The iris is connected to the tissue of the body by way of the brain and nervous system. The branched nerve fibers (i.e. dendrites) receive their impulses by their connections to the optic nerve and spinal cord. Nerve fibers in the iris respond to anatomical changes in body tissues by exhibiting a reflex physiology that corresponds to specific tissue changes, locations, and positions.
By this means, the body’s inherited and/or acquired state of health sends neural reflexes to the fibers within the iris causing groups of fibers to change by way of line patterns, characteristics, shapes, structures, forms, and color in the iris, which is what an Iridologist studies.
Iridology analysis identifies specific acute, sub-acute, pre-chronic, chronic, degenerative, and genetic conditions and predispositions. This enables the iridology practitioner to detect inflammation, inherent and physical weaknesses, the activity and condition of each organ and body system while displaying nutritional deficiencies and other abnormalities, such as: circulatory, respiratory, nervous, urinary, pancreatic, digestive, anemia, nerve tensions, toxemia, glandular disorders, allergens, pathogens, immune and auto-immune disorders, chemical imbalance, congestion, and the body’s unique power of recovery.
Because emotions originate in both the mind and the body, evidence of this can be witnessed when using the dual analysis of Rayid with iridology. Combining the disciplines of Iridology in conjuntion with the Rayid method, sometimes referred to as Behavioral Iridology, is a specialized comrehensive health and behavioral assessment.
This comprehensive analysis offers a more complex interpretation of information simultaneously through bilateral links of mind-body correlations, lending psychosomatic feedback. Through this application, experts can identify psychosomatic, psychological, and physiological disorders, and frequently the origin of these physical and emotional conditions.
When using the Rayid model with an Iridology assessment. this further reveals the psychology, genetic behavior, personality traits, relationship compatibilities, and behavioral patterns, including the individual strengths and weaknesses of a person, while iridology offers insights into physical abnormalities and imbalances of the person's health.
Additionally, the practice of Rayid-iridology indicates how to establish balance and understanding of oneself, ones genetic heritage, and relationship propensities. Like a fingerprint, no two eyes are alike, but as unique as the individual.
Utilizing today’s state-of-the-art digital iriscope equipment that displays pictures of each iris on a computer screen or projector gives the Iridologist accurate analysis meanwhile allowing the patient to view and witness areas of weaknesses for themselves.
With the ability to later upload new iris photo's for a comparison during follow-up visits, enables the Iridologist and patient to view and evaluate any progress and improvements after treatment, or otherwise stressed tissue and body systems that are still in need of healing and correction. An example that is easy to identify change is a brown discoloration in the colon area of the iris, marking the sign of a toxic colon. When proper measures of healing, cleansing and detoxification procedures are taken; obvious changes are evident. This is marked by a reduction or disappearance of the brownish discoloration.
Iridologist Kimberley Fournier stated, "As an iridologist in the Wholistic Science field for over 20 years, I’ve studied and analyzed many irises and recorded many findings. The fibers hold the history of our body’s state of well-being. The changes are gradual and over time but they do change" (see below). With advances in modern technology, now we can take pictures of the iris and compare before and after results; seeing firsthand the changes that take place within the fibers of the iris.
BEFORE/AFTER CASE STUDY:
A man at the age of 51 started his nutritional lifestyle program. Improvements in his health were observed both physically and mentally along with changes in the tissue and coloration of the iris of the eye.
Iridology complements all therapeutic sciences because it provides vital information needed in order to establish the root cause of ailments, establishing the appropriate treatment required. Iridology is a safe, non-invasive analytical science, which can be integrated with both orthodox and complementary medicine. Iridology has a great use of displaying weak tissue and determining where and what kind of nutrition is needed for specific correction. Iridology helps the patient learn about their strengths and weaknesses enabling them to become more aware of what they can do to help themselves.
Attempting to correct a chronic condition is difficult and takes perseverance and dedication to shift into healthier patterns and habits of living. It is much easier to maintain good health than to regain what is lost. The Iridologist can guide the patient as to the best ways of reversing existing conditions and managing genetic weaknesses. Interpreting iris signs into terms of meaningful information takes skill, practice, and knowledge of the body in respect to its anatomy, physiology, and biochemical activities. Every cell, tissue and organ of the body has nutritional requirements. When this is not provided, certain elements become depleted and the body begins to suffer illness and disease. The iris reflects these needs and the skilled Iridologist can identify them.
Dr. Bernard Jensen pioneered the Science of Iridology in the United States. He has completed 50 years of practice and developed one of the most comprehensive iris charts that are still the most accurate chart available today as shown below.
Although much of iridology's evidence is anecdotal, it is powerful evidence. When the iris displays a genetic influence in a particular zone, there is, or will be a problem with the function or performance of that organ. Even if the disease has been eliminated from the body, the genetic influence will remain. For instance, a person, who has a genetic iris heart marking and subsequently has a heart attack, may recover from the illness, but the weakness and weak tendency along with the iris marker will still be present. S/he will continue to carry the inheritance to this weakness and to stay healthy, should live life within proper health capabilities, especially concerning cardiovascular health.
Iridology can reveal levels of individual health and suggest ways of adapting or modifying our life to suit our genetic needs. A heart lacuna may show a genetic influence, but by monitoring diet and lifestyle and other external stimuli, any heart disease may be postponed and prevented for years to come.
Why Consult an Iridologist?
A Chinese proverb says: "A poor doctor cures; a good doctor prevents". Even worse is a doctor who fails to do both and only focuses on symptoms; such as much of our health-care system today. Iridology takes this to heart. All medicine longs to prevent a disease or disorder from occurring, any type of doctor would agree that it is easier, and more cost effective to nip disease in the bud. Iridology is ideally suited toward prevention in the true sense. We all have genetic weaknesses of some type or another, and none is impervious to human ailments. The skilled Iridologist pinpoints inherently weakened organs or glands that may not yet be noticeably producing symptoms or even discomfort.
By studying the iris markers, the Iridologist practitioner can then offer suggestions on how to avoid a disease or dysfunction from occurring. By identifying the external stimuli that triggers the weakness to manifest or become evident, symptoms of disease may be avoided, or at worst, delayed. By carefully observing dietary intake, lifestyle, habits, environment, as well as emotional and psychological health, the Iridologist can identify irritants to an individual's health. Living within the personal limitations of genetic inheritance may be the best way of achieving longevity. As humans, if we recognize and identify any weaknesses that we may have, we are better able to avoid an external stimulus that would cause disease by preventing it from progressing.
For example, a person may smoke twenty cigarettes a day and live to a ripe old age – providing s/he does not have a genetic weakness that involves smoking. However, this condition will worsen with each generation if not corrected, and the person's quality of health will decline. Conversely, a person may never smoke, yet develop lung cancer if s/he has a genetic lung marker. (Disclaimer: This statement does not serve as an encouragement to smoke if you do not possess a genetic lung marker or condition.)
Iridology is a safe, non-interventionary diagnostic technique, it requires no needles, and no anesthetic or drugs. Yet it may provide a valuable guide to health and disease. If every doctor's surgery employed a trained Iridologist and diagnostician, or better yet, if every doctor was trained in iridology, many exploratory operations would be avoided. This would save not only financial revenue, but time and suffering on the part of the patient.
It takes a special and futuristic practitioner to employ Iridology to its full advantage. Iridology provides information so valuable, that it deserves to become a widely practiced evaluation tool in the fields of both physical and psychological health and appeals to those seeking a more natural, proactive, and healthy lifestyle.
